Did I quick search on these forums, found some answers but nothing definitive. So, my question is: Can't I use WiFiMe to update the firmware anymore on the recently shipped DS models? I've previously had FlashMe firmware replacement on a X-ROM 512M cart and then did a 'wmb -data wifime' to update the firmware, but now when doing this the DS shows just "loading game data" in Mario font on the screen after the download play completes.
Follow-up question: Will WiFiMe method would work again in the future or should I get PassMe? Or what is currently the best method of enabling DS's to run homebrew?

The only method is PassMe2.

You need a PassMe2 and a compatible game. It's unlikely WifiMe will be made to work again, it's more likely some other method to run NDS code using wifi will be found.

You can use passme2 to install flashme.

Or, currently the ONLY way to install FlashMe is with a PassMe2.

Yeah, but since he is a newbie, I wouldn't recommend it.

Heh.. newb or not, I wouldn't recommend that method.. Only for brick recovery, as you have nothing to lose.

Flashme V5 is in NDS format, would it be bad to use an older flashme.ds.gba version and then wifime to v5???
since original Passme runs gba ext.

Thats not the problem.
The problem is that Nintendo updated the firmware, so that it will not allow the Passme to run. That is why Passme2 is needed for the newer DS's.

I am able to run homebrew though, ds.gba only, but it does run it, does it block flashme itself.
