DS Flash Equipment > Saving possible to a GBAMP?

#63501 - SeanMon - Tue Dec 13, 2005 7:15 pm

Is it possible to save to the CF card in the GBAMP, emulating the SRAM that is available in the M3?

If you want to write your own game, you can of course check if there is a gbamp and save to it (FAT).
If you want to "run some software not intendet to be run from a gbamp", this is not the right forum!

Problem is that PassMe2 doesn't work with a GBAMP, and that a DS + everything you need to use PassMe2 is more expensive than a GP2X.

juhees: I have no intention of doing anything illegal like that! I am planning on buying the PassMe1 + GBAMP combo, and I wanted to make sure that there is a way to save to the GBAMP before I buy it.

I thought that the CF card could only contain a single file.

it can only boot one file on startup (_boot_mp.nds or something like that) but Mighty Max made a loader that allows other NDS (and some ds.gba I believe) to be loaded. A homebrew program can access the card and all the files on it (like the loader does).

Hmm.. Is that true?

NDS = $130
PassMe2 = $25
SuperCard CF = $45
CF = $35

And that includes shipping of everything except the DS..

Total = $235

Damn.. that is expensive.. Though, you normally can remove the $35 for CF as most people have them.. but if you don't....

That actually sucks.. I guess it's good I never saw it layed out like that.. or I probably would have never bought a DS.

Worse yet:

Compatible game (not Meteos) = $35
USB CF writer = $28

If your DS came with First Hunt, then you almost certainly have old firmware. Nin?endo stopped bundling First Hunt when they cut the price to 130 USD, which was before they switched the firmware.
