Only if you know you have an old DS (roughly: titanium or electric blue, and purchased before October 2005).

ok what does that mean

i am just new and i have no clue where to start and i decided to get a passme and not a passkey

If you have doubts, get a PassMe2. It works with both new and old firmware.

ok i will get it and does it matter what card i use for the passme2 and the does the amount of data that the card holds matter

EFA-Linker, SuperCard, or just about any other GBA flash device (except GBAMP) should work for using PassMe2 to install FlashMe. But you have to be careful about what DS games you buy, as only a select few titles work with PassMe2 (those with "VHD/JED/XSVF" in this list).

ok so M3 will work and will this screw my DS up and if i get it preprogrammed will i need the FlashMe

The preprogrammed PassMe2 is just to save you some time from programming it yourself.

Make sure you preprogram it to a game you already have (original cart).

You don't NEED to FlashMe your DS, but it will save you from having to rewrite the SRAM every single time (though to be honest I didn't have to do that with my M3.)

There is a minute chance for your DS to screw up during the FlashMe process, but with a fully charged DS, you most-likely won't encounter any of that jazz. With me, the FlashMe installed just perfectly without interruption or complication.
