DS Flash Equipment > Bricked GBAMP?

#67082 - derula - Sun Jan 15, 2006 11:38 am

Hi.

Though I do not know how I did that, I obviously bricked my GBAMP. No booting in GBA mode nor in NDS mode is possible. Running with A+B+X+Y ends up with white screens, GBA boot ends up with black screens. It might be the CF card, because without it inserted GBAMP shows the normal error message. But I've done the troubleshooting provided here, and it did not quite help. Is there anything possible I can do?

(Comercial games are still possible, so I believe it is a problem with GBAMP or my CF card, not flashme.)

greetz,

You probably used the repair utility when trying to install a GBAMP firmware hack (accidentally pressed start instead of select).
Put update.e19 in the root of your CF card and boot your GBAMP with that (in GBA mode). Press Start to update when prompted. This should hopefully get you a working GBAMP, which you can then try reapplying the hack to.

It worked... Why does this happen when you use repair utility?

Because it erases everything in the GBAMP's firmware (to make sure no problems remain) then writes only enough data to load an update file.
