Does the GBA movie player fit all the way into the Nintendo DS or does it stick out. If so, how much does it stick out?

Work through this slideshow to learn the answer. By the way, the M3 is the same size as the GBAMP v2.

i really don't want something bulky thats gonna be sticking out so i think im gonna go with a flash cart. While we're on the subject... What flash cart do you recommend for under $50 that is good for flashing my ds and then running ScummVM, nesterDS, and snesDS (or any other nes and snes emulators for that matter)
#74467 - MaHe - Sun Mar 05, 2006 9:40 am
Although I was afraid of that either, I realised that I'm not bothered by something sticking out of my DS ...
You can still buy a flashcart of course, but in ScummVM, you'll be limited to games up to 32MB. If you'll want to use MoonShell, you'll have to spend additional 25$ on MagicKey or a similar thing ...
P.S.: Unfortunately, I don't think there's a flashcart under 50$ .

If you wait a while, stuff like this will probably begin to pop up:

With a firmware modification they could be used as nds flash cards. No sticking out, even in the DS Lite.
Fairly cheap, up to 2 GB of data...

Is that that mini-SD adapter? I didn't think mini-SD was so cheap like you're saying.

I've found a 1GB MiniSD card for about $60, and a 1GB CF card for about $50, so it's not that expensive.

yeah sausage boy thats the kind of thing i was hoping for when i started thinking about putting emulators on my ds. How long do you think it will be till something like that is available though?
also, scummvm supports games bigger than 32mb when on a GBA MP? i hope so cause the only game i care about is Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis and its like 60mb.

Wow, I didn't know Mini-SD cards are so cheap... woot!
2GB (16Gbit) Mini-SD, only 71? in my country.
I paid over 200? for my 512MB flashcart (4Gbit) including mailing.
2GB SD card costs 76?.
Btw. Micro-SD/TransFlash, 1GB (8Gbit) is 50?. That is also so cheap.
Comparsion between Micro-SD, Mini-SD and SD memorycards
Comparsion between Micro-SD and SD (includes dimensions)
How small is Micro-SD?

GBAMP is probably the best bet for Scumm use or shear future-proof storage capacty.
(CF cards upto 8GB have been confirmed to work in it )
I piad ?30 for 512MB about a year ago. (lik sang)
Dont even know if thats real...

So looking at that schematic, it looks like SD cards are accessed as though they were game save EEPROM?
#75061 - fer - Thu Mar 09, 2006 9:57 pm
i don't know what EEPROM is and those schematics confuse me but it doesn't matter cause im gonna sell my DS and all the games anyways. I posted it in the buy & sell forum so check it out if you're interested. i appreciate all your help with my questions though, thanks.

Yes, he tries to to access it using the SPI interface. No one has finished something like this yet though, I don't know if they got bored or if it's impossible. I believe neoflash does it differently, with mmc commands, at least it looks like that from reading through the source in chishm's lib.
