My friend and I bought Nintendo DSs yesterday and Metroid Prime Hunters... He got a silver DS and I got a blue one. Turns out he got a V3 firmware but I got stuck with a V4. So, I have to get a passme2... but, I can't find a site that sells it programmed for use with Metroid Prime Hunters, and I can't find the game listed in Darkfader's game list with a VHDL file. I'm not sure if I can make the passme2 work with the game myself by changing the VHDL file, but if it's simple i'd like to know. Anyways, i'm just wondering if anyone is using this game for their passme2, and i'm asking for anyones help in getting homebrew code running on my ds. Thanks.

If a game is not listed on "warez scene" release lists at PIRACY-DOT-COM and PIRACY-DOT-NET:
The game has not yet been released in the warez scene, or it was released after the release list's current maintainer went AWOL.
If a game is listed on the scene release lists but not listed in darkfader's table:
It's too new and has not yet been analyzed with the PassMe2 search tool. This has to be done by someone with a v1-v3 firmware DS, a traditional GBA flash card, an original PassMe, and the game in question.
If a game is listed in darkfader's table but PassMe CPLD and PassMe SRAM columns are empty:
There have to be specific 16-bit values in the first .nds file on the card in order for PassMe2 to work. Many games don't contain those values.

Well, It seems that the game isn't listed at PIRACY-DOT-COM or in Darkfaders table. So, I guess it's too new. I hope that this game isn't one that doesn't have the values needed by the Passme2.
Another question. Does finding the values involve just running a program on the DS that show the values after a search?

Yes. This program is PassMe Call Finder by Natrium42, one of the engineers behind PassMe.

My friend ordered Advance Wars for DS, which is on Darkfader's game list with the files. I'm just gonna get the Passkey2 from natrium42's site and reprogram it. When I can run homebrew code, i'll run the call finder program on my metroid game and post any results (if no one else does it by then).

Actually, they have been a bit slow in updating, so it may have been released.

It can be done using the newest NDStool, IIRC.

NDStool produces a .sav file and a .vhd file. Is there a way to make a .gba to use that .sav, and a way to use that .vhd?

The .vhd gets flashed to the passme2.
You could inject the .sav into Pepsiman's tool, replacing a different .sav with it.

If I had any clue how to do that, I would.

Hm, if someone would release info on how PassMe Call Finder works, it might be possible to implement the same into a replacement firmware.

You should be able to find everything needed to create your own sram filecreator (locations to change & values to search) in this thread:

I don't understand at all. Here's the sav and vhd that NDStool created. Someone who knows what the hell they're doing can do something with them, because I certainly don't.
