i think my wifi usb is compatible it is a d-link dwl-g122 b1. but once i go to install the drivers it says somthing like "could not install with these drivers" im pretty sure its compatible but i may be wrong...help?

I bought a USB one too. Didn't have a problem returning it though.

Keep it. If you get the DS booted any other way (passme, passme2, nopass), then you can use it for the HTTP-based .nds loader that someone's bound to develop.

That could be quite the wait, the WiFi lib would have to support Ad-Hoc for that (unless you can find soft AP drivers for it).
Of course, you could connect the DS to the computer though an existing WiFi AP/switch, but if he had that, he wouldn't need the USB WLAN adapter in the first place.
