DS Flash Equipment > TOTAL NOOB TO DS, NEED HELP

#82763 - insa8ne2k4 - Tue May 09, 2006 3:50 pm

I just bought a DS and discovered it was a version 2 (the blue-grey screen told me)

i want to play homebrew on my DS but i dont know what i need.

i found a site with a NEOFLASH KIT which included a flash cart, and the magic key. is this right for my DS.

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Also, ive been looking into wifime and found i have a compatible wifi card for the job, but i cant get the driver installed at all for the device, it is a usb belkin f5d7050.
Ive tried changing the PID's and everything in the driver file and still no luck. - any ideas

USB wifi cards are not compatible, you need a PCI (desktop) or PCMCIA (laptop) card.

You don't need a flashcard of any kind for DS homebrew, most people are now using one of the SD or CF devices. The gba movie player is the cheapest device but isn't suitable for use with passme2 or GBA homebrew which doesn't run from RAM ( i.e. > 256K )

You can get everything you need from here :-

So the neo flash thing wont work for me then?

its only ?35 for a 256mb flash cart and a magic key and a usb interface.

That's not a bad price actually, I might grab another one for myself :)

The only real issue is that DS homebrew which is built for one of the SD/CF devices won't work on flashcards so you might want to get a GBAMP as well.

If you have a SuperCard CF, the simplest way to use it is Datel Launcher device.
