Maybe Nntendo accidently put older firmware on?
Go in pictochat, join a channel, and pull out a game from a slot... (make sure its in the slot before turning on). Tell us what colour you have..

When I took the game out both screens went green

On wikipedia It tells me DSLite is meant to be purple? Is there a green version too now or was I actually right with "Maybe Nntendo accidently put older firmware on?"?

Probably could if they went and bought a MML + GBAMP - but i'm sure they don't want to spend lots of money to fix it
I told them to ask Nintendo - hopefully Nintendo can sort it out...

Unless Nintendo is reusing colors just to frustrate the TakeMeOut method.

is it a used DS Lite?

If it's used then it proberly has Flashme installed...
To check, press and hold X, Y, B and A when turning on the DS Lite.
If it freezes, then it has FlashMe installed.

It's new.
The lights arent working like a lite should and it has green firmware - not a coincidence in my opinion.
If you put a newer firmware onto a later bigger DS - you can use the DSlite style light -- so obviously the oposite happens when a DSlite has older firmware put on.

Email Nintendo. I'd love to hear what happened. xD

Dear Customer, thank you for your e-mail.
I am sorry but there is nothing I can do for you from here. The
warranty on Nintendo products imported from overseas is not valid here
in Europe. As the DS Lite has not yet been released here I have no
replacement items for it.It should go back to Nintendo in Japan to be
fixed.

Dan, before installing FlashMe or anything, dump the firmware so we can investigate if its a new firmware or if nintendo just did a mistake.
