My topic about the magickey2 is LOST (???) what happened?
Anyway... lets start over again...
I have the magickey2 (see pic -> [Images not permitted - Click here to view it]) and the GBA movie player... As I was informed, the GBA movie player is not suitable for loading homebrew programms.
I would like some step to step instuctions about:
1) what to buy (If I need to buy some other cartidge instead of the movie player or I don't have to buy anything else and the magickey2 can do the job by itself...). I would like to reccomend me any hardware you think is suitable as I have no idea about this stuff...
2) What to install in order to flash the DS and make it play homebrew apps.
I run the firmware test with the Pictochat trick and I have 2 green screens... any help?

GBA Movie Player v2 CompactFlash works with homebrew. GBA Movie Player v2 Secure Digital does not.
And if a topic is deleted, more than likely it mentioned piracy or "backups" which are verboten on this domain.

I have the SD MP :(
Could you please recommend me another type of cartidge which would be suitable for my DS and the magickey2?
Thanks

M3 SD, SuperCard SD
Either one works. The M3 is made by the same company that made the GBAMP if you prefer brands. www.kicktrading.ca is a good site for either one.

Hmm.. If you have a MK2+SD card, and an GBA MP+SD card.. don't you just load the MK2 launcher.nds file thingy onto the GBA MP and run that? Then, load your homebrew onto the MK2 SD card? Or does the GBA MP SD version not work with Chishm's firmware update, therefor not even DS compatible?

I am totally noob on this area... I don't know if the GBA MP SD version workw with Chishm's firmware update... In his site he is reffering in the CF version...
I tried to "Copy the ndsmp.gba file onto the CF card as well as the update.exx file." - (I didn't copy the update as my GBA MP SD is newer than the update)
BUT then I run the ndsmp.gba (I don't get this screen... [Images not permitted - Click here to view it] -> there is no FLASHM~1.GBA file... only the ndsmp.gba file that I copied in the SD card.)
Instead of this pic [Images not permitted - Click here to view it] I get a screen that says that no flash is detected...
What am I doing wrong?
Could pleas someone help me? I feel totally idiot... :(

the GBA MP SD is USELESS to you for any ds homebrew. sorry.
Assuming you don't have a newer DS, I would advise you to get a gbamp v2 CF.

I see... Instead of the GBA MP2 (CF) do you recommend anythinh else/better (M3/Supercard are they doing the same thing as the GBAMP?)

GBAMP v2 CF works just fine with a v4 DS and a MAX Media Launcher.
The big advantage of an M3 or SuperCard over a GBAMP v2 is that they have 32 MB of RAM, letting one run almost all GBA homebrew in addition to DS homebrew. SuperCard CF also comes bundled with an inexpensive CF writer at some online retailers.

I run the firmware test (and I had 2 green screens) so I guess I have a v3 DS... does that change anything?

PassMe2 works, but NoPass is less hassle.

Yup, and they are the same price. Well.. +shipping, but that depends on where you live. So, I'd suggest in this order:
PassMe1 if you have v3 firmware or older - $15
Datel Max Media Launcher (NoPass) - $20
Super Key (NoPass) - $19 <- if you want to wait for the release
SuperCard3 (NoPass) - $25 <- $25? What are they thinking..
PassMe2 = $20
Of course, you are only going to use the device once.. to install new firmware. So, you might be able to get a few $ back from selling it.

Even GBAMP CF won't work with Pass*2, because it has no SRAM. Pass*1 and NoPass will work though.
