DS Flash Equipment > flashme is acting up :S

#88658 - swimgod - Tue Jun 20, 2006 8:30 pm

i wanted to see if my nintendo ds (regular) had the light mod in it...

so when i run flashme i short the sl1,
then i press X B X B,
then the flashme progress says 66%...
thats it...
nothing changes shorting the sl1 or not...

my ds has already been flashed with v7, but not the lite version,
so i wonder why does it not move and why does it say 66% at first...

(btw, the % symbol flashes :-?)

I think it would say 66% because that much doesn't need to be changed, and it flashes because SL1 isn't shorted, so just keep poking things in there.

66% is the magic number that your DS will remain at if you're changing FlashMe versions from Stealth->nonstealth and vice versa... it's always been that way for me at least

im gonna try again today,
but i found out that i have a 01 ds and for it to work ....

hey now that i think about it,
i found out you can tell if the ds your about to buy will have multi light support :D,
on the back of the box under the serial number if it says 01 it will not and if it says 20 it will :P...
thats cool :D

Do you talk about: "Model No. NTR-001" Is it that?

How should it look like to have the extra light option?

"Model No. NTR-020"???

not the model number...
something you can see in the serial number view window on the box :),
on the bottom right corner of the sticker in grey text it says
either "C/NTR-USA-1"
or
"C/NTR-USA-20"
20 means it supports multi light levels from what i heard...

on the ds lite i had to reshort SL1 for it to work

#88945 - swimgod - Thu Jun 22, 2006 12:19 pm

well after i figured out that the screw driver was to small to short the sl1,
i used a paper clip bent...

my sl1 2 contact points are far away...

and i found out i have the firmware chip that is malware proff ^.^;
(the one where you have to keep it shorted through out the whole process,
making it imposible to over write any part of the firmware :P...)

i didn't have the light level changes sadly,
but thats alright because im getting a nintendo ds lite for a website i coded :D
