Yeah, I check the forums every day still. It makes me feel a little lonely that it's so dead now ;-)
Let's see, news about me. The wife is about to give birth to baby #3 in a week or so. I'm finally getting around to making another video game (after taking a few years off after Anguna) I'm currently working on a cheesy little game for Android. You can read about it on my development blog.
2d game development on mobile phones is so easy compared to GBA, but I miss the smaller homebrew community. Those were fun times.

I drop in every few weeks or so. Just raising kids and other life stuff. I heard there's some progress being made in 3DS homebrew. Maybe I'll get back into it one day :)

I still check it every other day. Who knows, with the progress being made on the 3DS, maybe soon we will have a 3DS subforum with everybody talking about what they're doing on it :)

I still check in now and again :) And have a slightly active GBA project, too. I have such a hard time getting anywhere with solo game dev, I decided to make this one as easy for myself as possible... sort of FF1 style RPG. No strict technical limits aside from the GBA itself, but not going overboard on the production quality or length. And story written in the half-comedy style that comes naturally to me. Characters are based on my classic FF1 party of fighter, red mage, white mage, black mage :)

I also have heard about homebrew on 3DS, but I really can't say how it's possible, given that I know no device, apart from that 3DS pirate cart that just works with single ROM dumps...

It's a firmware hack that works from 4.1 to 4.5 or something, I think it may be the same exploit that said pirate cart uses? Smealum seems to be leading the charge:

Great! Thanks for the link!
I also noticed I opened this topic in the wrong section, it was meant to go to the Offtopic forum... sorry I can't move it.
So... anyone else? :D

Me! Me! Me! :D
I am working full time on some interesting projects such as with the organization of the 2014 European parliament election. Only 4 months to go now! Also went back to university to finish a masters degree in Law at the same time :)

I'm new here, but I am here. I found this place after starting work on a project, but never took the time to make an account until now. It is sad to see a once large community so small.
#178160 - fincs - Sat Jan 25, 2014 8:40 pm
fincs here, I still visit this forum from time to time. Lately I haven't really been doing any DS homebrew; although what I am developing now is sort of a sequel to my last DS brew project, and it may be useful for 3DS homebrew :)

Every once in a while I check in, but I mostly lurk on those occasions.

Just came back to say that baby #3 was born yesterday. Looks like I'm going to be busy for awhile :)
#178167 - sverx - Mon Feb 03, 2014 3:45 pm
Congratulations!
Incidentally, few minutes ago I've also seen a banner about Anguna on PikoInteractive website... so we expect news ;)

Awesome! It's been in the works for awhile, but I hadn't heard from them that they were that far along. If all goes as planned, they'll be publishing the GBA version (now that I can't get blank carts anymore!), as well as doing a simplified SNES port (they've got somebody else programming it, so I don't know the details of how that will turn out).
#178174 - dananorma - Wed Mar 05, 2014 8:29 am
I'm the first here and will still check in. :))
#178178 - WriteASM - Tue Mar 25, 2014 12:49 pm
Still checking in every now and then. I would note that the discussions of past years is a great treasure trove of knowledge. Any ideas about making a comprehensive eBook about programming the GBA? After all, the GBA is no longer the flagship console for Nintendo, so maybe they won't be too concerned?
Just updated my bASMic project yesterday, and probably should upload the update here. It's handy if you're an electronics hobbyist, and want to control a small project with a self-contained development environment.

How old are the other 2? Ours are 5,3 & 18 months.

The others are 6 (twins). What I've learned the past 2 months is that 1 baby is A LOT EASIER than twins :)

Hi everyone,
every once a while I still check this forum for new and old information.
Mainly doing html5 dev with canvas and javascript now, which also works on mobile devices. And sometimes I port a demo of such a project for the gba.
Cheers,
Jenswa
