OffTopic > Superfamicom Reset Button

#9450 - sgeos - Tue Aug 05, 2003 5:19 am

Does anyone know how to fix a superfamicom reset button? I should probably just buy a new (or used) SNES, but asking won't hurt anything.

Is it stuck in one position or just won't work?

If it's stuck, the best thing to clean it with is a slightly damp (not wet!) cloth.

If it presses but does nothing you can just leave it (that button isn't used much anyway) or open your snes and simply solder the wire back onto it (it only has 2 wires so a 10-year old could handle this most basic solder-job)

you could also stick the wire back on with a bit of tape if you're not feeling brave...

Also you might need a security screwdriver to open your snes/super famicom. Just do a search on google.com for a supplier.

Hope this helps...

I can press it; nothing happens.

That's what I've done so far. It looks like one can access a sound test in Bahamut Lagoon by holding L and R and hitting reset. I've tried holding them when I power the thing on and it doesn't go to a sound test.

Thanks! I'll need to get a security screwdriver.

Kewl,

check out :-

Note: This is the Screwbit only, you have to use it with a socketed screwdriver (found in most toolboxes/hardware stores)

Hope this helps...
