OffTopic > using CVS on the Windows XP platform

#1917 - MayFly - Sat Jan 25, 2003 8:04 pm

Hello everybody,

I'm interested in using CVS as my version control system on my Windows XP machine. Though I do have (and use) my Linux box; my GBA development environment is Windows simply because I prefer using the Visual studio IDE, and I'm learning DirectX.

My question is: Do any of you folks use CVS in Windows 2000/XP? And if so how do you go about setting it up?

Thanks,
MayFly

I don't use CVS yet, but you might want to start here:

Thanks for the head's up.

I download WinCVS 1.2, and am now fairly comfortable with it. It seems to do the job well enough... though you'll have to download the Windows version of Tcl (8.1 or higher) to access the command line interface.

The command line interface is picky about her friends, but when she is your pal she's grreeeat!
