I bought it to display waveforms, like a scope, but it has a lot of other uses.

You can store nearly 1M of content from your PC into the Captigate, for display on the GBA. This includes ebooks, photos, and audio.
The unit is just $40, including the serial cable. I bought a couple test cables to measure things with. The total bill was just $67, including airmail shipping from Switzerland, and delivery time was only a week.
