OffTopic > Looking for a submarine simulator game

#33961 - fixitman - Tue Jan 11, 2005 6:14 pm

Has anyone found a good sub sim game out there fro the GBA? I'm looking for something like the old MicroProse Red Storm Rising (PC).

Do you mean 'has anyone found the source code for a good submarine sim'?
Because of course, this is a development forum. Where people trade code snippets (and sometimes source code for entire games if you're lucky).

It's not a roms trading forum! Unofficial GBA developers get a hard enough time as it is, being accused of promoting piracy simply because the same tools are often used to rip off the big companies.

Please read the stickies - re commercial games

Hey, go easy - he didn't ask for a ROM directly and this is the Off topic section. Granted, you're probably better off asking on a forum more specific to games, I've never seen any sub games for GBA.

I'm not familiar with Red Storm Rising, but the only submarine game I know of is Hunt for Red October on NES. I doubt it's much of a sim though.

I believe The Hunt for Red October was released for GB mono as well, with one player controlling the sub and the player on the other side of the Game Link actually controlling the Soviet fleet.

I haven't found a good one for GBA, but Wolfpack is a fine old DOS game that belongs in your collection. Same with Harpoon I - III.

I think Silent Service works quite good in PocketNES on a GBA, that should be more on the "sim" side.

Silent Service was my favorite on the C64 :) Go microprose!

Thanks all, and for the record, the reason I'm looking is that I'm thinking about writing one, and was looking to see what "features" others might have.

Thanks again...
