WTF does "sth" mean?
Any ways, I assume that you are inquiring about if someone is/has "hacking"/"hacked" the PSP(PlayStation Portable).
I don't believe so; because, mainly it has not been released here in the USA yet.

sth - something :)

Ah, yes, the well known and world wide accepted fact that only americans and/or people who buy stuff from the US instead of Japan, have an interest in hardware fiddling. ;)

I am sorry if I offended anyone with my comment, but the reason for it is that because mostly, if not all, hacks are made in the US.

Don't take every word that flies by your screen seriously, because "most" people generalize even if they, me, don't say it directly.

#36074 - Touchstone - Mon Feb 14, 2005 9:11 pm

That's cool, I just thought it sounded funny, especially with the probably exaggerated view of americans as ignorant to the rest of the world fresh in mind. (World series in baseball, thank you very much :)

In conclusion, I wasn't offended nor do I mean to offend anyone with this post, and ofcourse I realize that a generalization is just that, and not something that applies to the whole .. something. And I'm not trying to get any kind of discussion started neither. :)

Right..
I'am sorry, but I cannot agree with you there.
I claim that many hacks are scandinavian. But much of europe and asia are also comming strong nowdays.

How about we try to collect some "hack statistics" ? :)

Once again I am on the defence.
By "hacks" I was and still am reffering to the PSP and others like it.
Ex:
Nintendo DS,
GBA/GBA SP,
GameBoy,
GameBoy Color,
etc...

Ah PSP, the world re-knowned champion of battery sucide and square button lameness. It has taken that crown from the Game Gear. Currently sponserd by Duracell :)

I have always been under the impression that Hong Kong was tops in hacks/piracy. Of course many Asians have a "buddy system" and only share collected info with their friends, so HK hacks probably won't help us very fast.

I doubt the US shares it's hack stuff too, but most people in Hong Kong speak English and Cantonese, so they can read US websites while I doubt there are many in the US that can speak Cantonese.

Ok, who "hacked" the GBA?

#36160 - headspin - Tue Feb 15, 2005 2:50 pm

Well, you could call any "mod" a hack, like the Afterburner, DarkFader likes to hack his hardware, so any picture with the GBA's 'guts' hanging out I think is some sorta hack. That is if we are using the traditional definition of the word hack though.

Here's what I think ampz meant:

OK, who first opened the GBA hardware to homebrew?

I guess the answer to his question then would be:

The flash cart manufacturers

But did Visoly do the hard work of cracking the GBA cart bus and making the first flash cart prototype outside of Nintendo NDA world, or did someone from the homebrew community do it?

I think both, actually.
I had my first cart up and running before Visoly released their.
But they did not get the design from me since they announced their product well before I published my design.

Ahhh, yes it was you ampz, I still have the link from ages ago to the schematics of your homebrew cart..

http://www2.hh.se/stud/d99tibr/index2.html

So maybe it was ampz who first hacked the GBA :)
