OffTopic > Revolution SDK's 2,000 dollars?!

Studios tell IGN that Revolution SDKs sell for about $2,000, which is thousands of dollars cheaper than a PSP SDK, let alone an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 one.

Someone wants to save some money? =P

My first computer was more expensive than that. Now if only upstart companies could get developer licenses...

Exactly... removing the financial barrier to entry isn't that big a deal when you're as much of a stickler for who you'll sell to as Nintendo is.

Either that or we're going to see Revolution Live Arcade, where Nintendo attempts to emulate not only classic NES games but also Sony's purportedly more open developer policy. Someone on Slashdot seems to think that the requirements listed on warioworld.com aren't that hard to overcome, that Nintendo hands out developer licenses like candy to anybody with a 90 percent finished game for Microsoft Windows OS and a decent business plan.

Where are the requirements posted on warioworld.com? I couldn't find them easily from the top page.

I can't find anything related to the Nintendo Revolution on http://www.warioworld.com/apply/. I can only find information relating to:
    Nintendo DS
    Nintendo GameCube
    Game Boy Advance
    Game Boy Color

Yes, I noticed that. However you have to contact the same email addresses for all systems.

So the requirements are not posted on the page? You have to email for them?

Those are apparently the developer requirements. If you want to self-publish, read the publisher requirements too.
