I have been thinking about the word sprite for a while. Whatecver does the word mean? It being the actuall word sprite that in the dictionaries translates as fairy/elf seems rather far-fetched in my opinion, even though one could see a connection, with some imagination. Or is a short form for something?
Anyone who knows?

Long ago.. some small homebrewn company started to make a game based off of a soda commercial they had just seen.. *Gasp* They had no name for the graphics they were going to use.. hence, they called the graphic a 'sprite' in reference to the Holy Carbonated Water....*




This is what the 4 year old down the street told me <shrugs>....
