OffTopic > Video game industry stats

I am searching the web for stats about the video game industry (ex: sales per platform/company/genre for 2005, deal structure between developpers and publishers [average royalties for GBA, targeted unit sales] , etc.)

All I have is dating from 2003 and older.

I've looked for such information in the past without success. Apparently this is considered "commercially sensitive" so you're unlikely to get this data for western companies without paying a lot of money.

If anyone knows different I'd be happy to hear from them.

I got some very interesting information 2 years ago in a pdf file sent from a friend. Maybe this was supposed to be confidential...

I'm interested in game sales stats for the west. I've seen rankings, but no numbers. "Commercially sensitive"?

I've seen console sales but not game sales. I think I may have only seen them in mags, but if they're printing it it can't be that sensitive.

Okay, ZDNet and about states that NPD tracks sales. This site apparently gets its info straight from npd
