hey.

I went to the homepage of the Max Media Launcher, and read through it.

does this mean i can only run gba homebrew on my DS?

p.s does this work with the GBAMP CF?

As far as I can tell, MAX Media Launcher does not work with GBA homebrew.

The only GBA homebrew programs you can run on the GBAMP v2 CF are "multiboot" files. These are limited to 256 KB and run from RAM, but they can access the CF card to load assets. Luckily, there are plenty of nice GBA homebrew programs that run in multiboot mode.

Are you guys talking about the Max Media PLAYER or the Max Media Launcher. Those are two different products.

Indeed, very confusing product page.

"use home brew GBA software on your DS"..

Uhh.. if you have a flash cart.. you can already do that. The launcher is just that.. an NDS launcher.. it is only used to run DS homebrew. It has NOTHING to do with GBA.

so, is the GBAMP cf ver 2 a flash cart? (sorry, newbie here)

*edit* ps: will there be any limitations to the DS homebrew I can run?

PHWiki:NAND and NOR explains nicely.

Anyway, the GBAMP v2 can run most Nintendo DS homebrew, except that which relies on an appended file system (e.g. GBFS) and has not been adapted for use with CF cards. For those, you need a NOR card or a CF adapter with RAM (SuperCard or M3).
