DS Misc > rumor has it...ique ds will have gba tunneling...

#89528 - adrian783 - Sun Jun 25, 2006 10:49 am

its at the back of the ique ds lite box

"gba games can only run in single player mode, to use ique gba's multiplayer mode, ique's internet service is recommanded."
http://www.cngba.com/viewthread.php?tid=16087021&extra=page%3D1

"ique is currently developing a new gba cartridge, the cartridge has a usb slot, which can go online when plug into the computer. [some magazine's editor] used this cartridge to play multiplayer gba mario kart with ique's personnels"
http://www.cngba.com/viewthread.php?tid=16087141&extra=page%3D1

wtf? i seem to recall that gba games cannot be tunneled.

I'll bet it's in a device like a dev cart with flash memory (of sorts)
Next to zero distribution costs but they may have reworked the games would make sence to add a cool feature like wireless multiplay through GBA

Without extra hardware? because you can do it on emulators I think

Yes, GBA games can be tunneled, you merely have to emulate two at each end for sycning issues.

Perhaps a mis-translation. The USB multiplayer thing is probably refering to the WFC USB dongle. Also, " ique gba's multiplayer mode" probably refers to WFC.

but it says the usb slot is on the gba cartridge O_o
i'd agree that they're reworking the games and putting them on these new cartridges...or you have to download them to these cartridges like the original iQue (the one that was basically an anti-pirate N64...*waits for tepples to make a pun about "anti-pirate N64"*)

Well from what other people have said in these forums it would have to be as the GBA hardware in a DS is separate from the DS hardware so to speak and the DS doesn't have a USB port built in and I doubt they would use the DS slot (even if they cood) as it wouldn't stand upto too much wear and tear I don't think
