DS Misc > Is it possible to use AIM on the DS? [Renamed]

#89818 - deserter - Mon Jun 26, 2006 8:16 pm

will this work please tell why its to use aim on the ds

GBA MP or a M3 Perfect CF

Compact flash memory at least enough to put aim on.

Passme device 1 or 2 or wifime(wireless Multiboot)

Next save aim onto the GBA MP or m3 perfect

Run up the gba mp or m3 and run aim it should work since the file format is FAT1 or FAT32 and it'll use the compact flash as it's holder

If you aim to get msn working then the same set up will get aim working, when its available.

Your list is correct from what I see.
You will probably want a boot loader on the CF too, however, unless you purely plan to use aim and nothing else.
Id highly recomend Moonshell, or DSOrganiser....both of these can act as a sort of mini-operateing system to trigger other files.
( as well as having many cool features between them)

perhaps i'm reading it wrong, but i think he means going to aim.com, downloading it and attempting to run the .exe from the ds.

no, that won't work, you need a version made for the DS.

Isn't there an IRC client for the DS, and isn't there an IRC to AIM proxy for the PC?

ok i checked. you can run SylphIRC and try connecting to a public bitlbee server or a public IMIRC server. The thing is, the people running them can read ur password and stuff, so i wouldn't try that method unless I could run my own irc server. which i cant.
