DS Misc > Moonshell Customized Clocks! Please contribute!

#91008 - jbullfrog - Mon Jul 03, 2006 10:45 pm

Since we have a customized skins for moonshell thread, I thought why not have a customized clock thread for moonshell?!

To turn on your clock, change the global.ini file in the shell folder like this:

Modify this entry in the global.ini:
Code:
[BacklightTimeout]

WhenStandby=5
WhenPicture=0
WhenText=0
WhenSound=5

**When Standyby allows you to set the # of seconds until the clock shows up. It is just like a screensaver

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

**Again I stress that you must rename downloaded files to clk.ini, msp and bin

I hope you like it! This is very easy to do and I am sure we could have a conglomerate of clocks if everyone contributed. Please support!

For US users, to change the date format from 2006/07/03 to 07/03/2006,

Open your global.ini. At the very end of the file there should be

FormatDate=DD/MM/YYYY

Change that to M/D/YYYY.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What you call the "weird format" (2006-07-03) is ISO 8601, a logically big-endian format. The American format (07/03/2006) is the weird format, as it is neither little-endian nor big-endian.

I'm sorry tepples. I forgot that we are the weird ones.

It would have been so much easier also if we adopted the metric system!

tepples, do you like my clock?

A Matrix system of time? :D

I'm all for it ;)

If anyone noticed, I edited my posts in a more organized manner. Hope I didn't confuse anyone. My custom clock web page should be in my signature.

If anyone could show my how to change the font/color/size of the numbers shown in the clocks, I would be much obliged

copy and paste (on Angelfire...which is unfortunate. I'll spare you their ad crap since they dissallow hotlinking anyway):

[Images not permitted - Click here to view it]

I don't know how good this is...I was trying to think of something to fit in with the Luna skin and this was the only thing I tried that I liked. Hope somebody gets some use out of it. :) I *think* I lined up the letters/numbers properly, but I may have missed something. It's at least to where I'm not saying 'Oh! There's another one that isn't right!' when I use it.

I included the source bitmaps so people could probably change the color if they wished. May be a few extras bitmaps in there I ended up not using, been awhile since I worked on it at all.
