that act as a intermediate to transfer wifi settings.
before anyone say anything, i know there isnt one...so this is more like a request than anything else, but i do hope that someone made it in their freetime or something >__<

You mean a way to backup firmware stored settings, such as configuration 1, 2, and 3, along with the Nintendo WiFi Connection ID so that you can move it to a different DS (such as a DSLite) or possibly even clone WFCIDs?
I am unaware of such tool, but I'll be interested if someone else replies here.

WiFi games do that...

nope, wifi games do not retain WFC info to a different DS

They can send the settings to a different DS, just use the "Transfer WiFi Settings" button.

I think they want to have the same exact WiFi settings for two different DSs. This method will erase the settings after it transfers it to another DS.

Maybe if you try to capture the data and then try to send it to the first DS with WMB.... Wait, I don't think it gets sent over as an ARM7 executable, does it? I guess we don't know since nobody's capped the packets.

Impossible, as the DS can't sign an executable that changes based on user data. The sending DS would have to send a signed .nds file followed by the (unsigned) WFC data. The .nds running on the receiving DS would receive the WFC data over Ni-Fi and write it to the firmware.

I actually meant do it yourself, capturing a signed Wifi transfer .nds. Then recompile the capped packets and sending them back to teh first DS via WMB.

How about some homebrew program that stores the WiFi settings into some .txt file, then with the same homebrew program on a different DS, copies the data stored?
Would that work as a simple workaround?

That sounds about a hell of a lot simpler, yeah.

Interesting idea. Anyone looked into this?

Hmm. So anyone up to fetching the data and making the nds file?
Please?
I'd benefit from it since currently switching from my flashed DSPhat to my bro's nonflashed DSLite requires sending the wfcid.
I dont want to send the id every time my bro decides to play ACWW or MKDS online without having him purchase his own gamecard...
So please?

What is stopping him from buying his own game card or having his parents buy his own game card?

Time, actually.
My parents have some sort of invisible "money spent in certain ammount of time" rule. He got a DSLite this month, now he has to wait so his "spending limit" gets reset to whatever it was.
Its sad, really. But hey, Download Play is the roxxors! :P
Edit: Well that, and the fact that he's 10.
