Apparently they're ridiculously fast and up to 8GB. How well do you think Moonshell would play movies on one of those? ;-)

If there extreme and up to 8 gigs then moonshell will play the movies faster or w/e your going to play since movies are about up to 500 megabites and songs up to like IDK, 50 or something like that.

feature length movies are 2+ GB. And an 8gig card can hold WAY more than 50 songs. I have 175 on my 4GB iPod and it's only like 1.5 GB.

point is, the more space you have, the faster stuff will go

Feature length movies are not 2gb. I have two, one is 177mb the other 256mb.

Yeah, feature length movies are only 2 GB on the DVD. You forgot about the DVD -> DPG conversion.

you can encode a dpg with fairly high settings in batchdpg and have 2.5MB per minute.

8GB card=3200 min of video
4GB=1600 min
2GB=800 min
1GB=400 min
512MB=200 min
256MB=100 min

I think a 2GB card goes a long way. You can get one for $50 and tigerdirect, no rebate.

I've seen 1 GB cards for as low as $20.

Don't know if there'll ever be homebrew that would fill my 2gb (music/ignoring DPG videos)

I just saw a Fry's ad for a 2GB CF or SD card for $30.

now, once they come out with a 8gb SD card i'll be interested. :)

Say, you wouldn't be going to Fry's any time soon, would you?

Careful with cheap cards though. The Life brand CF card I bought yesterday wouldn't work in the GBAMP at all.

The $20 for 1GB was a PNY I saw on newegg. But now it's out of stock/unlisted. :-(
