1) that is not DSHackers code
2) that is not the title screen, that was a quick place up there to shut someone up

the .nds is broken??? see if it runs in dualis
i have no way of testing .nds on hardware, the game uses GBFS so WMB will not work

Is it necessary to zoom out when you move away from the other player?. It's not like you are all playing with the same screen, you don't have to see all the players at the same time. You could use those arrows that point to where the other players are when they move away in the original game.
#94271 - knight0fdragon - Mon Jul 24, 2006 5:04 am
thunderstrike, the top part will be changed, but I will keep the bottom part if you cleaned it up ( look on the DS and you can tell the spots where I am talkin about)
As for the top, it may just be called hyper clubbing friends or something, and it will be a generic fighting engine with the ability to import characters

it is more then 2 people smashing buttons, there are factors around the enviroment that change the play of the game, so you need to see a lot of the screen, plus the zoom adds to the confusion which makes the game what it is

I sort of see what you're getting at with zoom adding to the "confusion", (and I respect that it is a pretty nice bit of zooming stuff :P) but I believe that on a DS, it would be too confusing.
The screen resolution is too small for the game to be playable if it is zoomed out like on a console. As soon as character sprites are there that look even remotely similar, you'll see what I mean. (Especially when we're trying to tell them to do stuff!)
I see why we would want to see everything that's going on, so perhaps this sort of stuff could apply to a full level display... but that would rule out 2-player on the same DS stuff.
(Hrrm...)
Still, nice start!

the idea of importing characters is really cool because then you can have characters like sonic etc, or even fan made characters/ orginal characters can be added which would be great

you need to learn how paintshop or photoshop works then
your colors are probably in 24 bit
DS is 15 bit
so if you have a color that originally is 7R 7G 7B and 8R 8G 8B, you cant tell the difference there with the naked eye, since it is only 1/256 difference per color
when you convert it to 15bit you get 0R 0G 0B and 1R,1B,1G, it turns into a 1/32 difference, which could end on screwing it up
now i could rewrite my 24bit to 15bit routine so that 0 -3 get mapped to 0 and 4-7 get mapped to 1, but that diffence will probably still end up being there

SSB is copyrighted, so if I instead build a generic game that is customizable, then we are not infringeing any copyrights

Maybe you can make it like Viewtiful Joe DS, where one screen you can have it zoom out, and another screen, it stays the same on your character, so you can see the action up close.

Do both. Have the option of one screen being zoomed in, or showing the action spread across both screens.

ok try this http://www.mysharebox.com/dl.php?key=3718632
if that does not work then it is because GBFS is not MP1/2 compatable, which is understandable

?Sehu?? The GBA Movie Player v2 CF in DS mode is compatible with all GBFS functions except find_first_gbfs_file(). You can use bin2s to stick the GBFS file into the ARM9 binary, or you can load a GBFS into RAM using Chishm's FAT library.

You may be thinking of the 256 KB limit imposed by the Game Boy Advance. The Nintendo DS has over 4,000 KB of RAM.

It'd be possible to make a 3x5 pixel font, right? Remember that an LCD is made of subpixels. A single font data file could accommodate RGB (DS classic) and BGR (DS Lite) screens through palette swapping. And I don't think a 4x6 pixel font would be too big if the characters are zoomed out to Super Mario Bros. scale.
"Are you sure?" Toadally.

You should use the loader for gbamp only, as it reduces the available heap by the size of the appended gbfs.

actually that kinda is the normal size
the sprite area is 64x64
it doubles when you get the mushroom (R)
it shrinks when you get the poison mushroom (L)
the link used for testing purposes is 38x39 or something like that

I like your project.. that that i interest to know is if it is possible to create something style they MUGEN based since on this I saw a game fact in flash based on this comic (Very good from my point of view) and I found graphic as to make a Figting game..
It is that me one doesn't know of programming but the idea is not bad.. If had the knowledge I would make it but I eat it is not this way here I let them the graphics to see that they find..

NO!! My intention was only to show a different proposal (those graphics I didn't make them) for example to make a game with this (liked these graphics ones and for that reason I mentions them)
http://ppg.snafu-comics.com/?strip_id=0
But for if it is that to somebody it interested him the origin of these files they can pass the time here (brilliant the work of these people) In my serious case a good homage.. in fact there is a game in swf in this it page:
http://www.snafu-comics.com/game_ppgfangame.php
To somebody it would interest him to take it to the NDS? (it can improve a lot the music)

soz thundrestrike but the project name has been changed to hyper clubbing friends and it is a new engine that we make sure that Nintendo dont see the project as a copy if their games.
Also that link to the official website and it has the same info as yours but with more links and a chat client based system for chatting to people
#97410 - retrohead - Wed Aug 09, 2006 4:53 pm
Thanks for the link thundrestrike.
kOd you always seem to have host problems, be it for you DS projects or SF translation (though most of those seem ironed out now).
As soon as i can get hold of the file i will host it on my website (in sig) as standard. If you would like me to mirror the files again on my personal webspace, I can do this too which would then give people 3 places to download from. My main website requires registration for downloads and my personal webspace is literally for storage only, no bw limit!!
Now just to get the test file ;)
#97412 - knight0fdragon - Wed Aug 09, 2006 4:54 pm
the 1 in my sig works, and it has always been the official web host lol it is a hell of a lot better then bravenet

these things happen, some people end up making sites not what it should be intended for, and the registrar suspended it. Those ites were removed and it is just a matter of time till the suspension is removed.

...or what about Ultra Smashing Bros?
#97695 - knight0fdragon - Fri Aug 11, 2006 2:40 am
yea I wanted it to have the ring of Super Smash Bros without it seemingly be related to it.
There is nothing gay about it, if I called it hyper slamming friends, then differnet story

hmm, usually when someone says something is gay, they are referring to something that is homosexual, which is suppose to be an insult on its own. I have never seen it used as a synonym to stupid

When something is gay, it is balloon fever. (what is this?)
So will there be a Balloon Fighter in addition to Kirby and Purin?
