A couple possibilities
1. he's just using the wmb app like it was meant to be used, on a ds with flashme. this is not anything new, people have been doing this for some time.
2. he's claiming he can boot unsigned code on an unflashed ds over wmb...basically he's talking out of his ass

I'd just wait what comes out of it.
It isnt impossible that there is a security flaw in a second stage loader.
Beside it beeing it evantually beeing a new wifime, i see not much use for it.
And honestly from his description "a hacked version of the SM64DS single-card downloader" i doubt his success on unflashed DSes as this hacked version wouldnt pass the RSA in the first place

It sounds like if he's not faking, he either exploited a second-stage loader or found some flaw in the way Download Play verifies the signature (sending different code after it's verified or something). Depends what logo he's talking about.
