My brother managed to break his DS in half by punching the top screen - needless to say, it broke and fell down. The cable connecting both parts of the unit is also busted, so I'll have to hunt down a new one ... But that doesn't matter much:
I'm only looking for a online store with DS spare parts (precisely - the ribbon cable and a new case), that actually has stuff in stock. Plus, a tri-wing screwdriver is also preffered to be on sale. Any ideas?
And anything I should be careful about when I disassemble it?

from the sounds of it, all you need is a top-screen placement (with ribbon)
did the speakers wire break too?

I have all the parts and I have cases but their all silver and all from old units which are scratched etc...
Also which ribbon are you talking about? The LCD ribbon or the ribbon that connects the top boards to the lower boards.

well if the replacement parts are too much money go to http://www.oldschoolgamer.ca/information.aspx?SID=29 - they fix broken ds's for a pretty cheap price I think. Or they even buy broken NDS's

why the hell was he punching the top screen?
Even the dog who ate the DS Lite didn't break it. Just did a lot of cosmetic damage.

So it is possible to repair a DS?
Something similar happened to mine, where I only see the ribbon ripped. The sound one, if it's the brown cable is still there, intact. It doesn't turn on, but I take it it's normal in that condition.

I need the same ribbon too, but for DS Lite. (I just bought another DS Lite, because it's near pointless to fix it.)

Yes, but there's no Walmart in Europe ...
Anyways, it looks the same as in the picture Mantine took, but with the exception of both cables being damaged ...
