DS Misc > DS lite brings no strap, where can I buy one in Europe?

#96657 - tuLL - Fri Aug 04, 2006 2:52 pm

Hi

I'm the owner of 2 DSs an original one and a Lite one, and the Lite doesn't bring the strap to put on your thumb and rock that touch screen.

Where can I find one of these?

Thanks

Really O_O

Thats crazy...its by far the best way to controll Metroid or Mario.
Stylus isnt very comfortable at all to play with on those games.

I emailed Nintendo of Europe when my own wasn't any good to use anymore, and because they're not available for sale anywhere in Europe, they actually just send me one for free via mail. That and two extra styluses. Pretty nice. Worth a try.

When I e-mailed NOA why no strap included, they said it scratched the touchscreen if something got in between the pad and the screen, like dust.

Hello, yes I suspected that was the reason they were not including it. It seems they have taken a lot of things in mind that were not working ok with the original DS, and fixed them. But still, I don't mind those little scratches, they magically disappear when the screens turn on:)

Thanks guys, I think I'll email Nintendo then.

I completed SM64DS using the thumb strap, and I now have a circle of rough scratches on my touch screen. I definitely advise against the use of the thumb strap.

It works really well as a replacement for the strap.

Yeah, they're pretty good about that. They sent me a free copy of the US version of Mario Kart DS's manual when I complained about how little the Canadian version actually explains. (A lot of things are cut out to make room for French. >_>)

Is it illegal in Canada to make English and French language editions of a product in separate packaging?

@tepples
I don't think so.. but I think nanostray never got officially released in Quebec (or in whole canada, I dont know) cause there wasn't a french manual
@Hyperhacker
are you from Quebec ? and well, tusually, when I buy games, there is a black and white french manual and an english one (fully colored..) I don't think I ever saw a manual with the both languages..

Then your strap had a fault.

Seriously...how do people play hunters without it?!?

Do you all carry little tables with you to learn against?

simply hold the DS up with your Left hand and right hand's smallest finger on the R button for extra support ;)

Ontario, near Quebec. Every game I've seen that even bothered with French instructions had either both in one book or two separate books.

stylus's aren't that much better than the thumb pad

after many hours of Metroid Hunters using a stylus, I had a pretty big ball of scratches in the exact position I use the stylus
