My GBAMP is no longer booting up directly after start up. In fact, when the ds starts up, the GBAMP is listed as a DS option pack. Anyway to fix this?

blow into it like a gbc game is what im guessing

I tried that several times already. Unfortunately it didn't have an effect

Blowing can make things worse. Here's what I do to clean Game Paks:
- Moisten one end of a cotton swab with isopropyl rubbing alcohol.
- Rub the moist end across the GBAMP's connector several times.
- Do the same with the dry end.
In fact, Nintendo recommends the same procedure except with Nintendo's proprietary cleaning wand instead of the cotton swab.

Yah, just mess with it and it will sort itself out.<p>
It's a bit interesting, really. I wonder what would be behind turning my SC or GBAMP into an option pack to be accessed by something running from Slot-1...

As I understand it, reading the file system on a GBA slot memory card adapter would involve setting up your program to use libfat, setting the current working directory to SLOT-2, and putting the program on one of these.

i dunno guys...so far no good. I've been messing with it for the whole day with no results. I've cleaned it twice. It isn't damaged right? Is there something wrong with the programming?

Inserting the CompactFlash card upside down sometimes has this effect. Make sure that the CF card's brand label is pointing down, as seen in the bottom right of this picture.

I was never personally able to get my compact flash into the GBAMP/M3 slot if I had inserted it upside down.
It could be possible that the GBAMP has become damaged somehow.. on the plus side, it's only 30 dollars for a new one.

I tried making a wrap around slot 2 extender, i accidentally shorted wto of the pins, cant remember wich onces, they were in the middleish, anyway no matter what gba cart i put in, the ds said it was an option pak, even without a game in. so its as easy as that (i think).

The compact flash card is in correctly. Also, all other gba games function correctly in the gba slot of the ds. The gbamp shows up as an option pack without the flash card in as well. The only thing i thik could have happened was it ws damaged somehow, which is strange because it worked the night begore and the next morning it stopped functioning. Any other ideas?

Have you tried reloading the firmware with update.e19 (or will it not even boot in GBA Mode?). If that doesn't work, do you have any other media you can boot with to run Chishm's firmware patch? As you can boot to it, swap in the GBA MP and run the firmware update.

If you get "option pak", then you can't use a DS to start the card in GBA mode. Try using a GBA.

If you can run GBA Booter somehow (WMB works nicely), it will boot into GBA mode regardless of what's in the slot. It can't alter the GBA BIOS to remove the Nintendo logo check though, so that might not get you very far, but you can at least see what info is displayed about the cart.
