I did not see this posted anywhere so i thought i would let you know that the DS Download Station volume 3 is released (decompressed naturally).
Here is the list:
Mario Vs. DK 2 (Demo)
Brain Age (Demo)
Danny Phantom (Demo)
Elite Beat Agents (Demo)
Star Fox Command (Video)
Spectrobes (Video)
Clubhouse Games (Darts Demo)
Clubhouse Games (Turncoat Demo)
Star Trek Tactical Assault (Video)
Big Brain Academy (Demo)
You can download at ds-scene but you need to be registered. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to rapidshare them if you don't want to register at my site.

Thanks for the demos... they all work great, but what happened to the Mario vs Donkey Kong demo? Hopefully it was captured and just didn't end up here by accident, because it sounds like a great demo...
EDIT: Oops... I just forgot to load one of them... it is there... Thanks again!

are the downloads legal to host, id rather not run the wrath of nintendo but great news :)

well, they are free games, so it's the same to download them here on pc, or there on the ds download station.
I think
#103581 - tepples - Fri Sep 22, 2006 9:53 pm
Incidentally, linking to individual DS Download Play demos is permitted here but banned on some other sites that invite open discussion of piracy. They would claim that the key difference between downloading them on a PC and downloading them on a DS Download Station is that you can only play once from a given download from a DS Download Station. Ultimately this is the difference between, on the one hand, reproduction and distribution, and on the other hand, reproduction and private performance.

I'm a just curioius why can some of these games not be played on the GBAMP. When I load some of them I just get two white screens. Since these games are usually transmitted by wifi they must not need the storage space of a DS card and no DS games use GBA ROM so it doesn't matter that the GBAMP lacks this. I'm not complaining these games are great fun I'm just curious from a technical standpoint.

dustin i dont know if it helps but for SuperCard SD and Lite you need to append a ndsloader.bin to make a gba.nds. I also believe the Magic Supercard Homebrew Patcher will do the same job for Supercard users only of course though for i prefer manually myself.
I also think this is only for some of the files. Mario Vs DK needed it for instance.
#103622 - dustin - Sat Sep 23, 2006 4:50 am
yeah I could get them to work fine on a supercard and some work on a GBAMP. I was more interested in why some of them don't work on a GBAMP.
Plus: That march of the minies demo is awesome makes me want to get the game.

If its like previous ones, some wont work depending on booting method.
eg. the Tetris Demo never worked ver Moonshell

I had to register with dummy name, I hate to register every time someone shares something. Why do you ppl do it, why? Btw. the email address I used is no more valid, haha. That is what you get when you need more registered ppl. You get what you order! :D

Wow!
I've beaten Elite Beat Agents and Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2 on perfect rating so far :D
And Clubhouse Games are amazing too. It's going to be a nice fall this year. I don't think I'll have much money left, since there's Wii too ...
BTW: Demos only work if they're WMBed or have a loader prepended for SuperCard. Running them through MoonShell/DSOrganize doesn't work. Well, too bad.

Sorry to drag this off topic but DS-Scene does not need more members at all. Especially ones like yourself so feel free to not sign into the site and your account will be deleted in 90 days.
The fact you used an email address that no longer exists is just sad i am afraid and by no means is clever as you make out.
I stated in my first post you needed to register and if you didn't want to then you could have not bothered which would have saved DS-Scene more bandwith (the reason for restricting to members only in the first place).
You could have made yourself look good by uploading to rapidshare without flaming my site but instead you now look like a fool.
Well done!

I see how you feel...but...you have no right to complain, nor do the owners of the site (i'm not sure of yoru affiliation with them). It's there fault that they don't implent e-mail verification, and it's their fault that they offer downloads. If they dotn' want people doing that, offer the downloads without having to regester. If they dont' want people over-leeching...don't offer the downloads at all! They are pretty much asking for that sort of situation >_>
#103681 - retrohead - Sat Sep 23, 2006 8:36 pm
The email confirmation was actually not working as it should so thanks for pointing that out chatterbug, it is now repaired.
It is my website that i built from scratch that is paid for out of my own pocket and when someone complains about me and my site i feel i have to respond.
I have no problem with people "over leeching" (that is not the point) but what i have a problem with is people pasting links to downloads hosted on my site all over the internet
Leech as much as you like as far as i am concerned ;)
Back on topic now everyone...

I think its odd how hardrive space and bandwidth are increaseingly seeming to be tiny costs (GoogleVideo, Stage6, Gmail.... *massives* of storage for nothing).
And yet, when it comes to hosting files, its still hard to find a nice solution.
GooglePages lets you host a files publicly for 10MB or less, but thats it.
Maybe someone needs to invent a "FILE TO VIDEO" encoder :p So you can abuse video sites for hosting files.
Then you could have a convient link for members of the forum, and a "external host" link for guests/lerkers.
Anyway, very nice collection

For one thing, it's easy to eventually put a 10-second advertisement in front of a video but harder to do so with a zip file. The rigmarole that rapidshare etc put downloaders through is a way to make up for this. For another, YouTube is bleeding cash.

I'm sorry but if you are trying to run a successful website that people visit, surely pasting links to it all over the internet would encourage more traffic, thus giving you a popular website. The link itself goes to a page on your site, not directly to a file, so people will know where they got the file from, and perhaps have a good look around your site. complaining about people posting links to your site os counter productive, you fill find yourself with less visitors.
back on topic, i've been wanting to see MvDK2 in action i'm gonna have a look at whatever will run from moonshell.

I'm guessing that retrohead was complaining about people who link directly to the .zip files, not the .html files that give context.

I have uploaded Ds Demo's Volume 3 to my site.
I have high bandwitch, and there is no ads.

That is 100% correct tepples. Even though i have a php script that checks if you are logged in, people still link to that! ^-^
Togmannen, thanks very much for hosting the file aswell. Now everyone can get it!
spinal_cord, i believe the Demos do NOT run from moonshell :(
#103882 - Darkflame - Mon Sep 25, 2006 4:09 am
Beat Agents, Brain Training and Mario & Donkey Kong work from moonshell.
The screen goes white, then it loads after 2 seconds or so.
Also, the Starfox video footage works.
If I wasnt saving for a Wii, Id get M&DK + EBA.....they are bloody fun games from the demo.

Only GoogleVideo, Stage6...or youTube, for that mater, dont actualy put adverts in front of videos.
(the first two dont even have averts around them)
Frankly, YouTube is getting quite behind technology. Its small, and video low quality.
But the others...I havnt a clue where they get their bandwidth from.
Divx and Google are big companys...but letting people upload gigabytes, and then letting anynumber of people watch them is just insane.
Bandwidth and space is become less of an issue, and Im just supprised there isnt, well, "less crap" versions of RapidShare and the like.
Anyway, Im sure it wouldnt be too hard to make a datastream into a video format. Has to be durable enough to withstand compresion, but its still probably possible ;)
(much like its possible to mount gmail as a very slow linux hard drive)

Any of this demos works with WMBFront? I dont have any flash memory to upload them to my DS.
#103927 - IxthusTiger - Mon Sep 25, 2006 2:30 pm
They should all work with WMBFront.
I can confirm that MvsDK2 and the darts game work on GBAMP via DSOrganize. Big Brain Academy has crackly sound. Danny Phantom works too I think.
Does anyone have a list of all the demos that work with GBAMP? (and their boot methods)
#103933 - mntorankusu - Mon Sep 25, 2006 3:06 pm
I know that Elite Beat Agents works on the GBA MP through MoonShell.
As far as I can remember, the only one I couldn't get to work through DSOrganize or MoonShell is the second Clubhouse Games demo (the "turn" one).
#103953 - strongesthylian - Mon Sep 25, 2006 5:18 pm
I've only gotten Elite Beat Agents to work through DSOrganize. All I tried was Mario vs DK 2, Elite Beat Agents, Clubhouse darts, and Clubhouse turncoat.

For each of the download station volumes released so far my results have been the same, all games and videos work on a GBAMP v2 with firmware version 2.3 and any card in slot 1.
#103990 - GCTonyHawk7 - Mon Sep 25, 2006 9:23 pm
I guess I don't understand why we can't make all of them work. I've got an M3 Lite, M3SD, GBA MP, and a G6 Lite, and I am unable to get them all working, yet I can use Volume 1 and 2 completely on all of them.
What changed in volume 3?
#104057 - walaber - Tue Sep 26, 2006 7:22 am
I have a supercard CF, and by adding the loader to each file, I got them all to run perfectly...

I've juste tried to broadcast the DS download station vol. 3 .ds roms, but I do have the same problem as with the vol. 2. http://forum.gbadev.org/viewtopic.php?p=97590#97590

as I said, every other demos available at sgstair's wiki page are broadcasted perfectly, but vol. 2 and 3 aren't. Vol 2 and 3 work flawlessly on my M3 though. Any idea why?

I got the same problem like youplaboum, I got the same error. I couldn't get any of the roms of vol. 2 and 3 to work with WMBFront.

Make sure your WMB folder is in the root. Helps sometimes. :)

#104286 - youplaboum - Wed Sep 27, 2006 7:36 pm
ok my mistake.
I'm using wmbfront, and for an unknown reason, if a demo is somewhere out of /data, it invents a folder with the name of the rom.
Example: E:\dsapp\data\DS Download Station Volume 2\Individual ROMs\A3XEclip.nds\A3XEclip.nds
[edit]but if two or more demos are loaded together, the bug does not happen anymore[/edit]
alas I do not know who the author is, and if he is still in activity.

The author is [FireFly] and he occasionally comes to this forum. If you can't contact him this way, use IRC. :)

Actually I'm the author of WMBFront, which is a front end for WMB. I havn't looked at the source in a long time, but someone else did mention a similar bug a long time ago and I thought I fixed it. Just make sure your using version 1.3 from my site to make sure you have the latest one.
If so, I may be bothered if I find some spare time to fix it.
