This may be a crazy question, and it may not be.
But it is definately something to wonder about...
With the millions of DS lites being sold in Japan, I started to wonder. We have not much connection to the asian side of DS homebrew. You never really hear someone on these boards saying "sorry my bad english - I speak Japanese."
What goes on in the Japanese DS homebrew forums? What kind of DS Apps do they have that we don't? If anybody knows about it, if they have anything different, or if I'm wondering about something that isn't existing... please comment!
Now remember - Asains are generally smart. I wonder what they came up with...? :D

I always assumed that anything people in other countries were working on would be seen here as well. Like MoonShell.
#103863 - thundrestrike - Mon Sep 25, 2006 12:49 am
I think moonshell is the only one that I know of...
any comments?

You dont read the gbadev frontpage? ;) (second news from the top)
http://gba.pqrs.org/vulkanon/ for those who are lazy.
edit: Never mind... its for gba it seems :)

This is a very good point actualy.
Moonlight (Im sure the creator of Moonshell nick is Moonlight)...is the only one I know too.
Its a real shame their isnt tighter mixing between international homebrew groups.
Sure, there is a communication barrier, but code is common to all ;)

SaTa (of Rein fame) and the guy who made the SSEQ tools are both Japanese.

i don't quite get it... other countries than *what*? the gba/nds-homebrew scene is more or less international anyway... and yes, there are japanese people hanging here.

Well, DSDev.org is banned in China, as far as I know. While PocketH**ven isn't. o_o

I'm Canadian. :-p
It's true though, I'm surprised at how little Japanese homebrew gets posted here, and when it does it's rarely by the author or anyone who had anything to do with the program's development.

That's because almost every post on this board is in the English language.

My guess is that this guy only sees english, and then assumes everybody is american?
#104271 - Dan2552 - Wed Sep 27, 2006 5:14 pm
thats not a very nice thing to assume, seeming as english is the england language...

In every scene i feel that we are all missing out on releases, the english scene misses out on releases from japan, france, spain, russia etc.
as a newsposter i go to as many sites as possible but really you need those who are non english to check sites etc for releases and news.
Every now and again i find a stunning release just by checking foreign forums.

Well, I was also assuming that only americans would be that dumb, seeing as how people in europe tend to have more interaction with other countries.

I have found a few foreign gems in DSOrganize's database, so at least some of us keep up with the scenes in other countries.
