Is there any solo homebrew that lets me do the same thing as the Original WFC Configuration ? cause i am tired of having to go to a game to make any changes...

Something like ALite but for making Changes on the WFC Configurations would be sweet, but something with a good GUI ; )

Thanks

I think there was one written in PALib, but I haven't heard anything about it in awhile.

I have wondered why nobody made a serious, standalone, WiFi configuration app (especially since all homebrew WiFi programs use the WFC data now). But I guess nobody wants to be the one that puts out the software that writes a large amount of information to the firmware, for obvious reasons.

I think FWNITRO can do it. And there was one written in palib as well, don't know if it ever got released though.

Thanks Lick, oh and please use the return to supercard main menu thingy ehehe : )

DS-Scene will be happy to host one of your homebrews once again ; )

Here's a preview! It only scans at the moment. Very safe to run as it doesn't do anything dang'R'us and you can see it contains the reset function. :D

very nice indeed, could you do a list of functions that the app will have ? and is the homebrew going to use a gui similiar to the WifiConnection from the games ?

Cause we at DS-Scene want to make a preview of your app

*sight* finnaly someone makes a homebrew thats is needed...

Yeah I dislike the current GUI anyway. I'll see if I can copy the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Setup graphics.. (Or you can find someone to do it for me ;P)

Question.

My wireless internet connection has a different MAC address then my Nintendo DS Lite's. I've checked the Lite's MAC address at the wifi options when I put Lost Magic in it.

Does these MAC addresses need to be the same, in order to make Beup work? (0.3Final)
Thanx in advance.

MAC addresses are (or should be) unique for each device. You can't change the DS' MAC address anyway (not that I know of).

You should only worry about it if you're setting up a MAC whitelist in your wireless settings.

Thank you.

Yet another piece of the Beup puzzle is solved...

Lick: Here's a quick mock I made in gimp. Looks like the Nintendo WFC Setup screen.

Standard PNG:WFCMock.png
Gimp XCF: WFCMock.xcf

On a side note. I'm not really an artist, so this is about as good as it gets. ;)

Wasn't there a little project a while ago to copy that thing precisely?

Guys, I wasted a few days trying to copy the official Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Setup graphics, but in the end I decided not to use it. Simply because the gui is limiting to the extra homebrew-specific functions I want to implement. Anyway, time is killing me.

Ah, ok. I can see how that could be an issue.

This little pa lib program that everyone keeps mentioning is El Hobito's "Wifi Setup Test".
http://elhobito.blogspot.com/

It does try to imitate Nintendo's Wifi Connection Setup look.

However, this program (last time I checked) can't edit settings, it can view them though... It was also made in the time the Wifi Lib didn't have tcp.

Any news on either?

Something I've been pondering is a Wifi Connection Test program, similar to Xbox 360's. It would connect and download the test file from Nintendo's servers just as official games do, but give detailed information every step of the way, telling you what it's doing and how it's going. This would be useful to figure out why the heck you can't get a connection to the server when Nintendo's error codes only tell you things like "try manual IPs" or (my personal favourite) "incorrect WEP key" even though you are connected to the hotspot and it's listed as unencrypted.

Of course if you do that you may as well toss in a simple wifi setup app. No need to clone Nintendo's graphics (may not even be legal), as long as it can do all the same things (and maybe more, like copying between slots/files).

Have you tried to connect to a custom IP using wifilib? I remember I couldn't find out how.
