I have so many problems regarding DSOrganize 2.3 and SuperCard 1.70 firmware. SC's upgrade seems to have broke FAT routines or something has changed in the I/O.
I can't save anything DSO does or saves, like vcards or scribbles. When i edit any text file, it gets corrupted. I can delete or copy + paste files fine though.
I can't bookmark a txt section also.
I use the blue version. CF SuperCard here.
And as i am not into coding, i would like kindly to ask if anybody can recompile the source for the last DSOrganize with up to date FATlib and whatnot.
Other applications work fine, only DSOrganize acts this weird.
I miss DragonMinded's suport...

DragonMinded strongly requested than nobody would work on or make any updates to his source code. I doubt he would seek out and sue people, but I think most will not want to go against his wishes (though maybe not, since he was such a crybaby about it)

I don't know, I think there's a difference between updating his components, and recoding it (adding new features). I wish he would have been clearer on that. Like, if new touch screen code comes out, that's an update to a component he already had. Adding a video player is a whole new feature. I think as long as there is no outward change it'd be okay...

Yeah, like you said josath...
I personally think it's extremely stupid to release your source if you don't want people to recompile it, but that's just me...
Anyway, I think we could do with a new PIM-style app now that DSO is dead...
Anyone want to brainstorm on the subject?
EDIT: I personally am not at all impressed with the QuickWriting implementation in DSO. It's inaccurate and doesn't work well at all.

In my opinion recompiling a source code is not "updating the source code" as it doesn't change the source code itself.

BTW, what's the licence it's released under?
It would be fantastic to have DSFTPlib implemented in DSOrganize, with the empty screen showing the current folder, transfer speeds and such.

I'm not sure, but there was a LONG conversation on these forums wheter it's moral to continue DragonMinded's work.

Hi again, sorry for the quick posting, but i just saw it in the Infantile Paralysiser's site:
"Hello DSOrganize re-builders.
PLEASE! An old disk driver is insufficient. Please restructure by using a stable version."
:/

He said that when he was still working on it. I doubt he cares at all now.

Hey! He revived his NDSDEV website! There's a little hope inside myself ^_^

I think he wasn`t forbiding that kind of modifications. DragonMinded blog wrote: |
I really really don't want poeple to make modifications or repost their own compiles, aside from cart compatibility tests and such, as this IS my personal hobby. |

I agree too, but its a lot of work, even if DSOrganiser is used as a guide.
(of course, Id want a modular boot-loader that triggers different apps to open files based on the files extension...personaly, I think this is a better approach then one "do everything" program).

Hmmmmmm...
Something that could load "plugins" and access them would be nice...
That way people could contribute modules as required...
Basically a light-weight framework for loading code modules and running them. Combo it with a threading library and you could even have multiple modules running at once, although that would probably require some work...
Hmmmmm....
Something to look into, I guess :-)

That would be so good...
All it needs is some work... (it is times like this where I wish I could program)

Step 1 is to write an ELF loader that works on the DS.

If *someone* wasn't jack***, you'd get it. I have a beta of DSOrganize (created by DM himself) that has a plugin interface. DM also 'ported' dualSwan to work as a plugin (which is very cool).
Don't believe me? pictures soon.

Damn! Why did he have to go and quit. Couldn't he have slaved away a little more and then quit?
Damnations...
Have you been tinkering with the plugin code he was working on then, LiraNuna?

Plugin interface? So he actually did it?! He should at least release 2.4. :(

Well, I'd think if someone wants to get DSO running on his DS, that's a sign of appreciation, is it not?
Also, there is really no need for throwing around a blanket "idiots that spoil it", imho, ymmv.
