anyone have it?

There are two pins. One pin is signal; the other is ground. Have you already tried to build a mic adapter and ended up with a ground loop?

Not yet, I want to make a mic styled like the one for the N64, and have a stand at the port so it sticks up at a comfortable level.

Can it be used to receive data? (Think remote-input instead of microphone-input..)

Would be nice..

oh wow, now that would be quite a hack. of course the ds-ide one was impressive too...

That wouldn't be quite a hack, that would be using technology that was widely used before I was born, some time around the middle ages or something.

How about a Spectrum/C64 emulator that supports loading from tape? That would be a very cool hack

I made some hardware to attempt to interface an Atmel AVR microcontroller with the DS mic port for the purpose of transmitting data from an ancient NES controller to the DS.

It worked, actually. Problem, though, I accidently ended up later putting too much current into the mic port, now my internal mic in the DS seems to be dead. (Doesnt work in games, but an external mic wired to the mic port works)

So, if anyone does attempt to take on this task as I did, be careful. lol.
