I got a new DS lite today.
On the bottom screen there is a like pattern of small dots ALL over.
Just wondering, is this normal, and will it just rub off or what???
its patterned like
. . . . . .
. . . . . .
. . . . . .
. . . . . .
neatly across the whole screen

That's probably the touch screen. You should only be able to see it faintly.

I noticed that on my DS but only at a certain angle and when it's really bright.

Tha\'s interesting. I can see that on my friend\'s DS Phat, but I cannot see it at all on my DS lite. I guess it\'s just on the newer models? My bottom screen shows crisp video on all brightness levels... Even on black backgrounds.

I can see it only under a strong light with the screen off.
I doubt Nintendo will replace your unit, though. I can sometimes see a backlight LED shining through the plastic near the touchscreen. Can be quite annoying in Elite Beat Agents. :(

Well I can't tell of any delays of touching compared to my DS phat...
and it's far less annoying than my phat with its blue pixel of death.

thats a stuck pixel, nintendo will replace/fix it for free, also, try pressing in where the stuck pixel is so the colours smudge a bit

I did actually know that
but do they replace phat DSs with a dented bottom screen, very loose hinge, missing all 4 screws on top screen casing. I doubted it, and thats why I have my new DSlite which I'm actually going to take care of.
