I can't imagine anyone completely walking away from a personal project as big as DSOrganize over petty arguments on the Internet.
...word is bondage...
#111974 - Mr. Picklesworth - Tue Dec 12, 2006 3:52 am
An interesting thing.
Okay, two things:
1. If he does come back, don't whine.
2. He is not 8 years old, for crissakes! The only reason people replying to his blog post suddenly thought that was because some flamer compared him to an 8 year old.
Sheesh.
If he is returning, I am most excited!
I wouldn't be surprised if not; he has every right to stop working on that stuff.

Petty arguments and an under-appreciation of work can tip the balance sometimes.
Its not childish in the slightest, the effort and time to do these projects is huge, he might simply not have had the time with everything else going on in his life.
Also, un-coperative flash card makers wernt helping either.

Can't find it either. Is there an easy way to search for developers? It seemed as if the search function only browses projects.
#112480 - Dark Knight ez - Sat Dec 16, 2006 7:18 pm
Search harder.
LiraNuna and strager are working on creating an Engacho! like game for the Nintendo DS.
Engacho! is a game for the WonderSwan portable.

you guys are getting off topic. we need to say with dragonminded as luranuna was cool but he quit also. I just thought that he might be coming back i did not know that this would turn into a flaming war in any way.
#112864 - OOPMan - Wed Dec 20, 2006 10:23 pm
What are you on about, Jake?
First, there's no flaming happening here, not yet anyway...
Second, the fact that LiraNuna is working on an Engacho!-like DS game would seem to point out that he has not quit the NDS scene. Also, given that he still browses here and contributes info I don't see how he could be seen to have quit...
Whatever the case may be, there's no flaming going on here :-)

As for DM - he won't return in the near future.
As for me, some people know what I meant by the word "quit".

"Quit" like pressing Ctrl+Shift+W in Firefox, where I can come back and restart the browser any time I want, right?

tepples: quit like in to quit interacting with some people, without true necessity. But not to quit the act of ds programming.

Good policy. If you spend too much time posting on forums then you never get any coding done ;-)

hear hear. Same could be said about IRC.. hang on I have to get back to coding... no hang on I have to make one more post on IRC...
Bah Socializing killed the coding scene (in the same tune of video killed the radio star)

But, IRC can be very useful when you are having issues and need real time help solving a coding error.

True, but I still prefer forums for problem solving. The time delay between posts makes it easier to digest info and work through the solutions given...

Well, I guess it depends on how long you are willing to wait for the answer. In your case, I'd guess any question you might have needs a real answer. In my case, it's probably a stupid question/problem to begin with, and anyone can answer it within seconds.. :) That and I tend to do my "coding" at extreme times of the night where posting it on a forum would make me wait till morning, which I then wouldn't be able to play with it again till the next extreme time..

When you get stuck on one project, post about it, and switch to your other project. These other projects could be completely independent, or they could be different modules of one program.

Nah. I've gone that route and it only means I end up with 4096 projects on the go that never get finished or in some cases started. I still haven't got around to building the remote control hardware for the media center program I'll never finish so that I can more easily watch a TV show I never watch, because I've been spending the time working on another program which has been on hold the last few years.

My Asperger syndrome leaves room for one primary obsession and up to three secondary obsessions.
So what's the latest news from LN and DM?
