DS Misc > Porting Code To DS (New2DSDev)

#112420 - xiaotien - Sat Dec 16, 2006 5:29 am

Hi there,

I'm new to coding for the DS, but I like what I see. What I'd like to do is port a few existing open source titles as a trial. Does anyone know what's good to consider before attempting something like that? I know quite a few great titles I'd like to see. Also, any other tips on that'd be nice.

Cheers!!

PS. Using a DS-X

You might find porting other titles to be a lot more work than you'd imagine. I found that with the UQM port to the DS I was workng on.

Some existing games, despite being open-source, are just not very
easy to port for various reasons (Controls, Display layout and engine design being big ones...)

Good luck :-)
