DS Misc > Possible? Emulator for 3DO or Atari Jaguar

#112426 - xiaotien - Sat Dec 16, 2006 7:31 am

Hey there,

Is it possible for the DS to run an emulation of an Atari Jaguar or 3DO?

Lucky PSP guys.

No and No.
Jaguar is way to powerful and is dual CPU too (not to mention it's 64bit...). 3DO - don't get me started...

I mean, emulation is possible - with low speed.

Jaguar is only "64-bit" in its blitter and in its data bus.

There are three 32-bit CPUs:
  • "Tom" CPU - 26 MHz
  • "Jerry" CPU - 26 MHz
  • "Moto" CPU - 13 MHz
PicoDriveDS does its best just to emulate the Sega Genesis's CPU, which is identical to "Moto" but clocked at a slower speed.

Damn Straight! I picked up a Jag for 20 quid from a local game store exclusively for Tempest 2000. I'm hoping Marcads will be able to do either Tempest or Robotron soon.
