DS Misc > DS Devlopment on the Great Games Experiment

#116394 - JessTicular - Thu Jan 25, 2007 7:05 am

Howdy there DS Devrs :)

I've set up a Nintendo DS Developers Group on the Great Games Experiment.

Go and sign up for the GGE and join our group: NDS Developers

Info on GGE:
The Great Games Experiment is a mySpace type affair but for gamers and game developers and game publishers to hang out at. It is currently in Beta, but anyone can request to sign up.

The site is split into sections home, games, groups, developers and publishers. Each section is pretty self-explanatory and I found it very simple to use.

Once in there, you can join any group, rate other users, games, groups, and even chat.
Developers and Gamers alike can show their stuff while being members of some of the most active groups around.

Hope to see you all over there ;)

Jess.

You have to be registered to view them. THey should be viewable without having to register/login first.

#116400 - JessTicular - Thu Jan 25, 2007 8:20 am

Ahh, interesting point, I forgot about that.

Well, it's a free registration, and you get to meet like-minded people as well as showcase your stuff, or even advertise your skills and gaming habits - worth it in my books.

The ToS and privacy policy should be viewable before you register, so you can know what the site does with the information -before- you give it to them.

Umm, I can see them when I'm not logged in...

For those that still can't, I'll reproduce them here:

Nice looking site, but you really should look into why it's redirecting us (seems like everyone except for you?) from the /terms/ to just /.

Actually, the only links that seem to work are Help, Site Map, and Contact. Everything else redirects to the home page.

I was able to view the terms and privacy policy without logging in. Worked in Firefox 1.5.0.9 and IE6.

3) In the 3rd textbox, type: GameDevGGE
4) Check e-mail.

Ugh this site is absolutely TERRIBLE. I can't even click request activation on the homepagea because it doesn't work. After getting my activation from a subpage, I filled out all the required fields, and then the server stalled. I went back and did it again, and "This activation is expired." So I re-request it and "There is already an account for this email." Trying to login it seems my account was created but they weren't going to tell me about it.

Hopefully they work out the bugs -_-;

Seriously guys, how hard is it to simply TRY something yourself?

#116543 - Lick - Fri Jan 26, 2007 5:59 pm

I really haven't had any problems at all. I'm using Firefox 2 (latest version) and Javascript is enabled.

Haha, nice to hear everything's going smooth ;)

Personally, I hate the navigation on their site (and have told them so via Support Requests and Survey's), but everything else I like.
If they fix up the nav, then I would say it'd be quite a nice system and site all-round.

Jess.
