DS Misc > 4-Gig DS iPod

#121535 - dsluva - Mon Mar 12, 2007 10:57 pm

I read in PopSci that there is a 4-gig impostor iPod that can be downloaded to DS. Can someone tell me where to get it?

-Thanks

first read this:
http://forum.gbadev.org/viewtopic.php?t=6574
then get some sort of flashcart with 4gig and load this:
http://www.cecm.usp.br/~lucas/lmp-ng/
on it

PopSci is great... that's actually how I found out about this website. I wasn't too interested in the MP3 aspect, but other homebrews caught my attention.

Which flash cart do you have? More than likely you want to go with the .nds one. If you have a supercard you want to rename the .ds.gba to a .sc.nds and run that. If you have a GBA flash cart then I believe you just need to run the .ds.gba
And don't forget about DLDI:

Im going to be using the Games n' music from datel. It is a Slot-1 type device running micro SD so im going to try that DLDI. (http://us.codejunkies.com/shop/product.asp?c=US&cr=USD&cs=$&r=0&l=1&ProdID=615)

im going to try the SuperCard Ds(MicroSD) DLDI for the DLDI.

however i am unable to locate a .nds file in LMP folders. my dslinux is the proper format from what i can tell but i cant find .nds in LMP

Datel products are generally not a good idea. They don't have suitable DLDI files. The Supercard one wouldn't work.

Yet another user gets the shaft from Datel...

Why are they still in business?

Their homebrew devices almost always suck...

I don't think LMP-ng will work at all with the Games N Music card because it won't know how to access the filesystem to find the music.

#128249 - Dood77 - Wed May 09, 2007 11:57 pm

Yeah, there is no DLDI/libfat working for the Games 'n Music card, so no LMP at all.
You mentioned something about DSLinux... are you running that off of another card?

You'd have to use the WMB build of DSLinux, as the others are made for filesystem access, which you won't have with the GnM card. And the WMB build is pretty limited in what you can do.

#128342 - cpzeldafreak - Thu May 10, 2007 9:38 pm

how do i run that? is there a .nds file or do i have to use wmb (wireless multiboot, right?)

It's a *.nds file downloadable through the DSLinux Downloads page. You don't have to run it through WMB, no, that's just the name of the build. Just note that you won't be able to access any of your files on your card, and while you will be able to connect to your router, the Retawq web browser is not included due to RAM constraints. You could probably SSH to another box and use that to use other applications though.
