DS Misc > Is a CrossFire port possible on DS ?

#121730 - Lord Raptor - Wed Mar 14, 2007 11:32 am

Hello,

I was just wondering if it would be possible to port CrossFire (http://crossfire.real-time.com/index.html) on the DS.
The client requirements are awesome, but I don't know why, as all the data are stored on the Crossfire server.

The client isn't supposed to only display the interface and tiles ?

Well looking at the client requirements they seem a little too hefty for the DS!
And I quote,
Quote:
Internet Connection, for Public Server access = 256/256 Kb connection (or better)
Similar to X Windows environment (ex: KDE, Gnome, et al.), keyboard and mouse
Required Hardware = 200+ MHz Processor, 128MB of RAM, 10MB of free disk space
Recommended Hardware = 500+ MHz Processor, 256+ MB of RAM, 10+ MB of free disk space
Well at least we have the disk space :-)

taking away any OS requirements might help... We're not gonna be running it on KDE on DS.

A Crossfire client is definately feasible on the DS, but you are not going to be able to make a direct port or anything. Most likely you can use one of the existing ports as a reference, and do it from scratch yourself.
