DS Misc > Nintendo wifi-usb connector

Does homebrew code using the wifilib work with the Official Nintendo wifi-usb connector? I know that a wireless router would work, but since I don't plan on using a wireless network at my home for anything but the DS, I'm giving the nintendo connector consideration.

In order to use the Nintendo Wi-Fi dongle with homebrew, you're going to have to install "soft AP" software instead of the included software. But a wireless router is just as cheap as the Nintendo dongle if you look hard enough.

Will homebrew ever support the Nintendo USB dongle the way it was meant to be used?

I have converted my adaptor to a softAP in the past but found many problems to show up which messed up my internet connection. So now I use the USB with the official software.

Not until somebody dumps and disassembles the official Wi-Fi library to see how it is handshaking with the dongle. Given the prevailing attitude on gbadev.org against distribution of tools capable of dumping DS Game Cards, that's not likely to happen soon.
