From AIM (AOL) I could connect to buddys at ICQ.
Is this possible with DSAIM, too???
I've heard that somebody did it.
So Somebody tell us how, please!!!

Did you try 1. logging in with your AIM name and password and 2. sending an IM, using the ICQ number as the screen name? If so, how did it fail?

does AIM actually talk to ICQ?
Wanda, when you sent a mesg to my ICQ client, it showed up as if it was coming from another ICQ client, not from your AIM client

I've been using trillian so long, I haven't kept up with the actual IM clients, heh
fiddling with it myself, AIM will talk to icq, but it's doing something odd
I'm not sure exactly how to explain it tho, lemme play some more tonight

Yes. Both networks share the login.oscar.aol.com server.

As far as I can tell, if the screen name is numeric, it shows it as an ICQ client; otherwise, it shows it as an AIM client.

Yes to 1. And yes to 2. And point 3 depends on how I wrote the ICQ number:
- If I wrote 347141642 it anwered 'User is unavailable' in a message popup.
- If I wrote 374-141-642 there was no reaction.
The same thing happened as I tried to reach Tikker via DSAIM.
At the same time I did it via AOL and Tikker got this AIM messages (but shown up as ICQ messages).

If you are currently online you might test it by yourself. 347141642 is online now and will be reacheable within the next 20 minutes, I think.
