I was wondering, is there any way to rip .wav's from NDS ROMs? I found on some other forum, someone ripped voice sound-files from Mario Kart DS, but not the music.
Can somone link to how this is done? I can't find any info anywhere.
I've tried using "ndssndext.exe", but that gives me many small, and unuseable, files.

Nitro Composer's sequence format is slightly more complicated than a mere IMA ADPCM. You'll want to check this topic and this page.

Or take the easy route and run a cable from the DS's headphone jack to your computer's line in. Can't record individual samples unless the game has a sound test, but for music it works fine.

How would I record the music from Tetris DS without the tetromino locking sound effects getting in the way?

Do what I've done since the ghetto game boy era: start the game and pause it, then record while paused.

Hmm...Tetris DS does have a soundtest.

Lol. But DM, what if the game pauses the music with the game?

OK, you're right about TDS and Meteos. But TDS's sound test doesn't cover all parts of the game (especially not Push), and not all games have a sound test, and even for those that do, not all players are skilled enough to unlock it.

Heh, all it takes is abusing the infinite spin thing, and a few pauses to rest your thumbs.

You could also record it a few times guessing the sound effects would cover different parts of the music each time.
Then hack it all together.. It's all more work then it's worth if you ask me.
