Here they failed.

He tried to get his Datel "wifimax" dongle to work with homebrew. Then he found an external solution and was very happy.

Here's how Lick did it:
German and Netherlandish are closely related languages; here, I use the regular expression De?uts?ch which matches both "Deutsch" and "Dutch". In these languages, the verb goes at the end of the sentence (like in Japanese) unless it's the first word of a verb in the main clause, in which case it goes after the first noun phrase or adverb phrase in statements or first in questions. In English, on the other hand, the verb goes after the subject noun phrase, except in questions where it goes first.
With this rearrangement, bitking wrote: |

"Search" and "seek" are the same in De?uts?ch. "Can", "can do", and "know" are the same. "No x" and "none of x" are the same. The De?uts?ch infinitive "X-en" corresponds to English "to X", but it is also the ending for plural present. The words for "the" in Dutch are "de" and "het", while German has a bunch more D-words all meaning "the". And some of the rules for pronoun case (I, me, my) differ from those in English.
With this vocabulary change, bitking wrote: |

Knowing a bit of Japanese grammar helps you understand Engrish. Likewise, in this case, knowing a bit of De?uts?ch grammar helps you understand Denglish.

Hmm, for some reason your post reminds me of a Sesame Street avatar I saw you using on a forum who's name escapes me, tepples.

How does an introduction to German and Dutch grammar remind you of this pic?

Oh yeah, not that I remembered what it was about, just that your post took on the form of a lesson, "the more you know...", and I remembered seeing Sesame Street characters under your screenname elsewhere...
