Thats the first step to an awesome way to use your DS, Looks awesome, Only issue would be the usefulness, this is a major hack and it seems your DS is a bit immobile, it would be cool to utilize the GBA port and support connectors to screens for the top, for example,

That's not a problem in practice. A GameCube + Game Boy Player + LCD is probably just as immobile.

Why hasn't Nintendo hired you to make kiosks for them?!

This is the coolest hardware hack I've ever seen, I don't care how immobile it makes your DS. I'd be all over that if I had the money.

That's awesome. Also, you captured screenshots? Doesn't that mean you could build a DS-to-TV or DS-to-VGA adaptor? I remember all sorts of people wanting those a while ago.
If you could stick some sort of plug on the end, so you could unplug the DS and use it as normal, it'd be one of the best DS mods ever. I'd want one, but wouldn't be able to afford the screens. :-p
Also, it'd be hilarious to make a working giant DS.

Fair shout, that's awesome. Any idea how much all of this might cost? I doubt think those FPGA development boards are cheap!

Nice job. Just getting it displaying on larger screens is great but the fact that you got touch also working is very cool.

Silly question, I know, but how do you remove the pcb from your DS? In particular, how do you unplug the contacts attached to the upper side of the pcb (as seen from below)? I'm afraid to apply too much force, in case I'm doing it wrong.

Thanks, that did it! And for the record, the big black things are the ones you're supposed to pull up.
Another question, do you use VGND for ground? It's connected to ground on the fpga? And the only other connections used for the LCDs are the colors, DCLK1 and GSP1?

What connections did you use for interfacing with the touch pad, did you just drive high CS on the chip and put your own feed on the line?

Also where did you get your sources of information like GSP1 was vsync? or did you figure it out by trial and error?
