This would be great way to kill time: Petit Computer

English article about it here: http://tinycartridge.com/post/3486687554/petit-computer-a-dsiware-app-allowing-you-to-code

I so want to see that in the other regions, complete with the ability for people to share their creations on SD card.

Code:

10 PRINT "I want this!"
20 GOTO 10

I bet it doesn't come to Europe though :(

it does seem interresting, but I'm afraid that any game that you create will be locked with the program, meaning that people will have to buy the program just to play your game.

I'm also sceptic about the posibility of exporting your code and assets to a computer. having an actual keyboard is very usefull at times. it would also mean that you can't import graphics or sound, or export everything so you can port it to other platforms.

plus, its basic. I dislike basic.

we really need a good lua port for the ds.

"SmileboomÂ’s Petit Computer, that neat DSiWare app that lets you code games right in your own handheld, is coming to North America this summer thanks to Go Series publisher Gamebridge, bless their hearts."
