There's an old version with a proof-of-concept NDS compiled with like 1 song (v1 or 2 I think it was, it was bundled with the regular release), but it's not supported.

I've been thinking about adding this, but it's pretty pointless to support wifi for pocketspc, and gba mp support means I'd probably have to have one to test, or someone willing to test it.

Well, you've got tons of willing people to help ;)
#53285 - falcon!!! - Wed Sep 07, 2005 7:51 am

agreed
GBAMP combatible SPC player would rock!
slightly off topic: I'm not sure but does Moonshell support "NSF"(NesSoundFile) files?I haven't tried it yet but I remember reading about it.If yes...how is the quality/compatibility?

the quality is very good, but those are nintendo (nes) sounds, so they are not so complex^^

Hm, how do you change tracks in an NSF with more than one track? I couldn't find a way to do this...

Ok, one down, one to go. Gba mp support has been preliminarly added. Course, not having a gba mp I have no idea if it works, but the alpha is posted here: http://pocketspc.pocketheaven.com/pocketspc-gbamp-alpha.zip.
It *should* appear with a menu of the files on your card looking something like this:
..
*dir1
file1
*dir2
file2
file3
Press up&down to change selection, and hit A to select the option. Hit select to exit and go back to the gba mp.
Edit: Oh, it's incredible fault intolerant, and has some debug messages in it as well. Please let me know if it crashes after one of those messages. And don't try to play non-spc's. That would be bad.
#53425 - falcon!!! - Thu Sep 08, 2005 9:08 am
how does it work?
Shoul i put the nds file + spc files in the root directory?
#53429 - gladius - Thu Sep 08, 2005 9:25 am
Put 'em in any directory you like. It should handle it fine. Although root directory would probably be good to start for testing.
#53431 - falcon!!! - Thu Sep 08, 2005 9:30 am
sigh
It doesnt work with me :(
Should i try renaming it boot_mp.nds and start it without any loader?
Yes now i'll try this way
EDIT: nope it doesnt work. i tried to upload the file via wireless too but it doesnt work cuz it says "received deautentication"
Aybody tried?
#53469 - The 9th Sage - Thu Sep 08, 2005 4:56 pm
It doesn't seem to be working for me...it just gets me a white screen. I tried it with both available GBAMP loaders and booting it up directly....with Chism's loader I got the same result that I did booting it directly, it doesn't look like Mighty Max's loader is even getting it that far.
*edit*
this is with v2 of the GBAMP firmware hack, but I don't think it would make a difference to go back to the old one.

Doh. I won't have a chance to take a look at it until tonight unfortunately.
#53561 - gladius - Fri Sep 09, 2005 5:19 am
Give it another shot now, same download link. Unfortunately, two white screens is a bad sign. That means the arm9 is not even getting to execute.
#53565 - Habeeb1000 - Fri Sep 09, 2005 6:15 am
No go. I get:
Code: |
Unable to initialize FAT.....
Press start to continue |
#53566 - gladius - Fri Sep 09, 2005 6:40 am
Well, that's better than before at least, thanks for testing. Still not good though :P.
#53569 - falcon!!! - Fri Sep 09, 2005 7:54 am
so is useless i try it out?
#53593 - falcon!!! - Fri Sep 09, 2005 4:50 pm
yes the same mesage to me :(
#53594 - gladius - Fri Sep 09, 2005 4:51 pm
Sure, you can try it out.
chishm: Any idea as to why that call to FAT_InitFiles() would be failing?
My code essentially looks like this:
if (CF_IsInserted()) {
if (!FAT_InitFiles()) {
// print error message
}
}
#53596 - El Hobito - Fri Sep 09, 2005 4:57 pm
Did you remember to set the control registers first?
#53734 - gladius - Sun Sep 11, 2005 8:21 am
Okay, there is now an nds version of pocketspc available. It has restrictions though, currently you can only get about 2 megabytes of spc's in there. This should improve in future versions.
Visit the webpage for the download: http://pocketspc.pocketheaven.com.

U ROCK GLADIUS!
U ROCK!!
EDIT;
NOOOOO!! why does it only work via wifime??? NO GBAMP! :'(
#53773 - gladius - Sun Sep 11, 2005 8:05 pm
I don't know why it doesn't work on gba mp... Sorry.
#53777 - El Hobito - Sun Sep 11, 2005 8:47 pm
probably for exactly the same reason snesds doesnt work, hopefully you'll fix it soon if anyone can you probably can so i'm sure it'll be fixed up in no time
#53806 - IxthusTiger - Mon Sep 12, 2005 3:05 am
while I'm here I'll sneak in some SNESDS feedback :)
Dracula X has problems getting past the intro unless I turn off the frame sync, and when I enter an area with new music (the boss) the game freezes! Turning on the frame sync once I'm in a level creates a low buzzing along with the music.
#53814 - gladius - Mon Sep 12, 2005 4:04 am
There are many issues currently with the apu/cpu sync in snesds. Hopefully the next release will fix most of them up. It's not an easy problem to solve.
